🔌 Connect to AI · MCP

Ask ChatGPT, Claude, Muse and more about everything you saved

LifeFeed works as an MCP server. Connect it once and your AI assistant can search your library, open a save with your highlights, and check your Watchers. With Pro, it can also save links and set up Watchers for you. Free for every account, about two minutes to set up.

Set up in 3 steps

1

Get your key in the LifeFeed app

On iPhone, Android or Mac, open Settings → Connect to AI and tap Generate API Key. Copy it right away: it is shown only once.

The key starts with lfmcp_. You can have up to 3 keys (for example one per assistant) and revoke any of them at any time.

2

Make your connector URL

Most assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Muse) only ask for a URL. Your connector URL is the server address with your key at the end. Paste your key here to build it. It stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.

https://lifefeed.ai/apis/v1/mcp/c/<your-key>
Keep this URL private, like a password: anyone who has it can read your library.
3

Add it to your assistant

Choose your assistant below and follow the steps. Then ask it about your saves.

Add LifeFeed to your assistant

Menu names change from time to time. If a label looks different, look for “Connectors”, “Plugins” or “custom MCP server”.

Claude

claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the Claude mobile apps
  1. On claude.ai (or in the Claude desktop app), open Customize → Connectors. (Settings → Connectors now points there too.)
  2. Click + Add at the top right and choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name: LifeFeed. MCP server URL: your connector URL from step 2.
  4. Click Continue to add it.
  5. In a chat, open the tools menu (the + button) and make sure LifeFeed is turned on.

A connector you add once is available in Claude on the web, on the desktop app and on the mobile apps. Claude's free plan allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to add or allow it under Organization settings → Connectors.

ChatGPT

chatgpt.com and the ChatGPT desktop app
  1. Open Settings → Plugins (earlier named “Apps” or “Connectors”).
  2. Click + and choose Add custom MCP server. If you don't see it, turn on Developer mode under Advanced first.
  3. Name: LifeFeed. MCP server URL: your connector URL from step 2.
  4. Authentication: No authentication. Your key is already inside the URL.
  5. Confirm that you trust the server, click Create, then turn LifeFeed on in a chat.

Custom MCP servers need a paid ChatGPT plan. On Business and Enterprise workspaces an admin may need to allow them first.

Meta Muse

Muse on the web and in the Meta AI app
  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector, then paste your connector URL from step 2.
  2. Or just ask Muse in a chat: “Add a custom MCP connector called LifeFeed with this URL: …” and paste your connector URL.
  3. If Muse asks how to sign in, choose none: the key is already in the URL.

Muse doesn't review custom connectors, so only add ones you trust. LifeFeed's connector can only read your library, and with Pro add a save or a Watcher; it never changes or deletes anything.

Claude Code

Terminal, uses the key as a header (the URL stays clean)

Run this once, with your key in place of lfmcp_YOUR_KEY:

claude mcp add --transport http lifefeed https://lifefeed.ai/apis/v1/mcp/ \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer lfmcp_YOUR_KEY"

Then start claude and ask: “Search my LifeFeed for …”. Check the connection any time with /mcp.

Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and other MCP apps

Any app that supports remote (Streamable HTTP) MCP servers

Cursor: add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "lifefeed": {
      "url": "https://lifefeed.ai/apis/v1/mcp/",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer lfmcp_YOUR_KEY" }
    }
  }
}

VS Code: add this to .vscode/mcp.json (or your user MCP settings):

{
  "servers": {
    "lifefeed": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://lifefeed.ai/apis/v1/mcp/",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer lfmcp_YOUR_KEY" }
    }
  }
}

Anything else: server URL https://lifefeed.ai/apis/v1/mcp/, transport Streamable HTTP, header Authorization: Bearer lfmcp_YOUR_KEY. If the app can't send headers, use your connector URL instead.

Things to ask

Your assistant decides when to look in LifeFeed. Mentioning “my LifeFeed” or “my saves” helps.

“Search my LifeFeed for the pasta recipe I saved and list the ingredients.”
“What did I save this week about AI? Summarize the main ideas.”
“Open my saved article about sleep and show my highlights.”
“Which of my LifeFeed Watchers are active, and what are they tracking?”
“Plan a weekend in Rome using the places I saved.”
“Turn my saves about marketing into a one-page checklist.”
“Save this link to my LifeFeed with a note that it's for the trip.” Pro
“Watch the price of this product on my LifeFeed and tell me when it drops.” Pro

What your assistant can do

Four read tools for every account, two write tools for Pro. Nothing in your library can be changed or deleted.

search_librarySearches your saves by keyword across titles, AI summaries, tags, descriptions and your notes.
get_recent_savesLists what you saved most recently, optionally from one category.
get_saveOpens one save with its summary, details and your highlights.
list_watchersShows your active Watchers and the latest value each one found.
save_url ProSaves a link into your library: LifeFeed reads the page, writes the summary and tags, and the save shows in the app on its next sync. Your assistant asks you before saving.
create_watcher ProSets up a Watcher on a page, a price or a news topic, within your 5 active Watchers. Your assistant asks you before creating one.
Keep it safe. Treat your key and connector URL like a password. To stop access at any time, open Settings → Connect to AI in the LifeFeed app and tap Revoke. Requests are limited to 60 a minute per key, and saves or Watchers to 10 a minute.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Connecting an AI assistant works on every LifeFeed account, free or Pro. Your assistant's own plan may limit custom connectors (for example, Claude's free plan allows one).

Which assistants work?

Claude (web, desktop and mobile apps), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Meta Muse, Cursor, VS Code and any other app that supports remote MCP servers over HTTPS.

Can the assistant change or delete my saves?

It can never edit or delete anything. Every account lets it read: search your library, open a save with its highlights, list recent saves and see your Watchers. With Pro it can also add a save or a Watcher, and your assistant asks you first each time.

Does LifeFeed see my conversations?

No. LifeFeed only receives the requests your assistant makes, such as a search query. Your chat stays with the assistant and follows that assistant's own privacy settings.

How do I disconnect?

In the LifeFeed app, open Settings → Connect to AI and tap Revoke next to the key. The connection stops working right away. You can also remove the connector in your assistant.

I lost my key. Can I see it again?

No, keys are shown only once. Revoke the old one and generate a new key. You can have up to 3 keys at a time, for example one per assistant.

Don't have LifeFeed yet?

Save anything from any app, then ask your AI about it. Free to start.
